How to Fix File And Folder Not Deleting “This action can’t be completed because the file is open in COM Surrogate” : Undeletable file and folder would be real frustrating situation, it happened because of many reasons one of the common reason is “This action can’t be completed because the file is open in COM Surrogate”. COM surrogate also known for “dllhost.exe, sometime windows run system component, like media and thumbnails and it may cause to prevent deleting the files and folders.
In this article I will shows you the simple way to fix this issue, follow the steps below to delete undeletable files and folder in windows 11 or windows 10.
1. Right click on taskbar and select “Task Manager”.
2. Click on “Details” find the “dllhost.exe” and right click on that, select “End Task” and click on “End process”. Do this to all “dellhost.exe” files.
3. Now go to “Processes” tab find “COM Surrogate” and do this same, right click and “End Task”. Do this same to all “COM Surrogate” files.
4. Now find and right click on “Windows Explorer” and select “End Task”. After this try to delete file & folder.
5. If the above method didn’t work, restart your pc and then try to delete.
