How to Easily Connect and Transfer Data Between External SSD/HDD and Phone ? Before Understanding this first we should understand What is SSD?
What is SSD?
A SSD stand for (Solid-State-Drive). SSD is a type of computer device which stores Data. It is sometimes called semiconductor storage device or solid-state disk. SSDs are the most common storage device, these SSD devices are very small in size very reliable.
SSDs are designed to replace the old HDDs (Hard-Disk-Drive)from computer and other devices. SSDs access data very fast. these are noise less because they don’t have moving parts. This type of SSD storage devices are non-volatile.
SSD improves system performance and reduce energy consumption.SSDs are more faster than HDDs. The appearance of SSDs is significantly smaller, thinner, and lighter than HDDs.
Where we can use SSDs
SSDs can be used in many devices like
- Personal Computers
- Laptops
- Gaming Consol
- Data centres
- Smartphones
- Digital cameras
What is HDD?
A HDD Stands for Hard Disk Drive. HDD is a non-volatile storage device, use to Store data on a computer or other devices. HDDs can be used as primary or secondary storage devices in computers, HDDs are connected to the motherboard through a wire/cable.
HDDs come in different sizes and storage capacities like gigabytes to terabytes. The appearance of HDDs is significantly larger than SSDs.
Characteristics of HDDs:
- HDD can store data usually measured in gigabytes (GB) or terabytes (TB)
- HDDs can be slow at retrieving large data or files
- HDDs retain data even when the computer is powered off.
- HDDs are not durable because of physical damage due to moving parts
- The lifespan of HDDs are three to five years
Steps to Transfer data from SSD/HDD device to phone
Step 1: Connect the SSD/HDD device to the smart phone with USB cable or use USB to type-C converter.
Step 2: If developer is turned off then go to phone Settings open the developer option and Turn on the USB debugging option.

Step 3: After you connected ssd to phone, go to phone File Manager (it’s shows your external HDD name), tap External HDD to open.

Step 4 : Select the particular file and go to more options tap on ” Copy”. Select the Device Storage/ Internal storage and Tap on “Paste”. Your file will be successfully transferred to your phone.

Steps to Transfer data from Smart Phone to HDD device
Step 1: Go to File manager (it’s shows your Internal storage name), tap Device Storage/Internal storage to open.

Step 2 : Select the Particular file and go to more options tap on ” Copy”, select the External HDD storage and Tap on “Paste”. Your file will be successfully transferred to your external HDD/SSD.

After work done safely eject the external drive from your phone.
